El Niño Information Hub
With El Niño conditions expected to influence Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland's weather this summer, Auckland Emergency Management is focusing on helping Aucklanders prepare for a range of possible impacts. While forecasts indicate we could experience hotter, drier, and windier conditions, there is still uncertainty about exactly what summer will bring. Our focus is on ensuring communities have access to trusted, reliable information so they can make informed decisions and be prepared.
Rather than creating duplicate content, Auckland Emergency Management is curating and amplifying information from trusted partner agencies, including Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ), Health New Zealand, the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI), and Watercare.
We've launched our El Niño information hub, bringing together preparedness advice, key messages, and links to trusted partner information: aem.govt.nz/heat. We encourage you to visit the hub, share it with your communities, stakeholders, and partners, and help extend the reach of our messages by re-sharing Auckland Emergency Management social media posts.
We will continue to update the hub throughout the summer as conditions develop.
